London, UK – Lifesten Health was proud to take center stage at the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship Capstone Showcase, hosted at Imperial College London, where our Co-founder and CEO, Ogweno Stephen, delivered a compelling pitch on the future of preventive health innovation in Africa.
Representing Kenya and the broader African health-tech ecosystem, Ogweno presented Lifesten Health’s vision to make preventive healthcare more accessible, data-driven, and empowering for millions of people across the continent.

Showcasing a New Era of Preventive Healthcare
In his presentation, Ogweno highlighted how Lifesten Health is transforming how individuals understand and manage their well-being through artificial intelligence (AI), gamification, and digital health diagnostics.
Using transdermal optical imaging (TOI) technology, the Lifesten App allows users to scan their faces to analyze key health indicators such as blood pressure and stress index—in under 30 seconds. Combined with personalized wellness challenges, points, and rewards, the platform turns health improvement into an engaging, rewarding experience.
“Pitching at Imperial was a defining moment,” shared Ogweno Stephen, Co-founder and CEO of Lifesten Health. “It wasn’t just about showcasing our technology—it was about presenting a vision for a healthier, more equitable future where preventive care is within everyone’s reach.”

A Fellowship Journey of Growth and Impact
The pitch marked the culmination of six transformative months of mentorship and training under the Commonwealth Startup Fellowship, a global initiative supporting innovative ventures from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries.
Throughout the program, Ogweno worked closely with distinguished mentors Hattie Willis and Andy Ayim, learning advanced strategies in business storytelling, investor engagement, and strategic communication. The results of that mentorship were evident in a powerful, concise, and mission-driven pitch that captured the spirit of African innovation.
Building Global Partnerships for Digital Health
Following the pitch, Ogweno had the opportunity to meet with Professor Robin Mason, Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Birmingham and representative of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, to discuss the intersection of digital health, innovation, and youth entrepreneurship across the Commonwealth.
The event also brought together innovators from Imperial’s global startup ecosystem, including health-tech entrepreneurs such as Ryaan Sultan, with whom Ogweno exchanged insights on advancing health equity through technology.
These interactions reinforced Lifesten Health’s commitment to building partnerships that accelerate digital health transformation and improve preventive care across Africa and beyond.

African Innovation Leading Global Change
For Lifesten Health, this moment represents more than a pitch—it’s a statement of purpose. As an African-founded startup, we’re demonstrating how local innovation can deliver global impact, especially in tackling the rising burden of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs).
“Every pitch is a chance to tell our story,” said Ogweno. “And our story is about empowering people to take control of their health—before illness takes control of them.”
